2026 Club Captains Announced

I am incredibly proud to announce that Riley Knight and James Rowe have been appointed Co-Captains of our SANFL League side for 2026.

Both men represent this Club in the right way. They prepare well, they care deeply about their teammates, and they understand what the Eagles jumper means. Riley brings calmness and experience, James brings energy and drive, and together they form a leadership combination that feels authentic and aligned with who we are.

In our SANFLW program, Annie Falkenberg and Poppy Waterford will lead as Co-Captains in 2026.

Annie has been part of our SANFLW journey since day one. She has helped shape the standards and culture of the program, and she leads with consistency and care.

Poppy’s appointment is equally inspiring. After the disappointment of missing last year’s Grand Final due to a knee reconstruction, she has shown resilience, professionalism and a team-first mindset that speaks volumes about her character. Leadership is often revealed in adversity, and Poppy has certainly demonstrated that.

Across both programs, we have an outstanding leadership group.

  • They are connected
  • They are competitive
  • They care about each other
  • And they care about this Club

Leadership at the Eagles is not about titles, it’s about driving standards every day and bringing others with you. I have full confidence that this group will do exactly that and help take our League programs deep into the seasons.

Please join me in congratulating Riley, James, Annie and Poppy on their appointments.

The opportunity ahead is exciting, and we move forward together.
