By ZAC MILBANK

South Australia’s Lani Cocks has swept up a host of awards following the 2025 Marsh AFLW U16 National Championships as four Croweaters were selected in the All-Australian line-up.

Cocks, who was SA’s vice-captain, was named as the MVP of the Championships and SA’s MVP whilst also being selected on the half-back flank of the All-Australian side.

SA captain Maia Freemantle, chosen as rover, earned the distinction of being the skipper of the All-Australian team while Croweater talls Lara Gribben (full forward) and Isabella Beaumont (full back) were named at the bookends.

Under the guidance of coach Bek McMahon, SA was confirmed as National Champion for the third year in succession having edged out runner-up Victoria Metro on percentage.

The Croweaters remain undefeated since 2022, having won their last six matches in succession including this year’s contests against Western Australia in Perth (13 points) and the Brisbane Lions Academy in Adelaide (56 points).
