The Under 18s had a good win against Central Districts at X Convenience Oval on Friday night.  We started well kicking 3 goals before the Bulldogs scored but they hit back with 2 goals late in the quarter. We played well in the second quarter kicking 4 goals and again Centrals kicked another 2 and we took at 3 goal lead into half time.  We played a very good third quarter kicking 4 goals whilst holding the Doggies scoreless and we kept that good form going into the last kicking 3 goals 5 points whilst Centrals kicked one goal.  Eventually we ran out 59 point winners.

We had a lot of good players, it was a very good team effort and Lochie Hoile and Luke Beecken continued their good form in our midfield, Luke Barnett and Zac Buck were also busy in the clearances and around the ground, Nathan Francis and Shaun McNeilly did well in our defence and Zac Phillips  gave us a good look at the ball with his ruck work and work around the ground.   We shared the goal kicking with 10 players kicking our 14 goals.

I missed acknowledging Bailey Nicholas’ first Under 18 game for 2019 last week and also Ryan Williams from our Under 16s made his Under 18 debut last week, kicking a goal after taking a strong mark.  This week Nick Azzollini made his debut and did well kicking 2 goals for us as a busy forward/midfielder.

This Saturday we take on second placed West Adelaide at City Mazda Stadium where we will play our annual match for the Jake Watson Shield, which honours the life of Jake Watson who tragically died in an Under 19s match between the two clubs in 2002.
