Round 7, the exact half-way point of our Season for 2024, we headed to the Bay for our first night match. We always knew it would be a highly contested game against the top of the table tigers.
We were confident re our chances and thought our ball movement would be the key to getting the two points. Glenelg were able to stifle any ball movement by making the game a contested four quarters. We were beaten by a better side who were able to get the ball outside, use it well and take their opportunities.
On the positive side, we stayed in touch for the whole match and was able to contain the margin to 13 points and looked threatening as the game wore on. We will learn a lot from this game.
On a sour note, McKenzie Dowrick injured her left knee and we will have to wait on scans to know the full extent. We now enjoy a full 7 day break to recover, review and get ready to face Centrals back at Maughan Thiem where we will be happy to be on a big oval that suits our game style.
