Round 8 Women’s Match Report

Our first home game at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval was always going to be a challenge facing the top of the table Roosters who came in to the game in red hot form.

We started fast with a 3 goal first quarter and then didn’t score another major for the remaining 3 quarters.

This is basically where we came up short kicking 9 points and eventually going down by a slim margin of 4 points.

As a coaching panel we are immensely proud of this group from where they have come from day one pre-season to now where we are matching it with the best teams in the competition.

Our ability to compete at the level for sustained times is improving and when we play a full game, take our scoring opportunities, our fortunes will turn around quickly.

We now look forward to taking on Norwood next weekend at Oval Ave and if we can consistently play our brand of football, the playing group and coaches feel that elusive win is close.
