Coming in to round 3 we knew Norwood would be a challenge considering their first two performances of season 2024. We also knew if we played some consistent footy we would be competitive.
Our forwards certainly found the football and we were able to have a solid 3rd quarter kicking 4 goals. It was enough to get us across the line with Norwood coming home strong in quarter 4.
It was a luxury to have the classy Shineah Goody playing, and she certainly didn’t disappoint with a game highlight run from the back half to I50 with 4 bounces and a handball to herself.
As a playing group it was a sign of maturity to hold on and get the win. We learnt a lot from the round 1 close loss to Sturt and with the SANFLW competition being even these are wins we will need to learn to win.
There were many solid contributors across the board with Christina Leuzzi having a standout game showing great poise and skill across half back. Grace Martin and Poppy Waterford continue to impress.
We now prepare for a South team coming off a solid win and will need to be our best to compete with the ever-consistent Panthers.
