Skipper Sinor Leads The Way

The Woodville West Torrens Football Club is excited to announce Joseph Sinor as captain of the Eagles for the 2023 season.

Acting as vice-captain since 2020, the 28-year-old replaces Luke Thompson who after eight years will take a step back from any official leadership duties.
On Thompson’s services, CEO Luke Powell said, “From being drafted to the Club via the mini draft in 2010, to becoming the longest serving captain in the Club’s history, it’s a credit to Luke on what he has been able to achieve. A three-time premiership player, a two-time premiership captain, he has played over 200 games for Club and hopefully there is still another chapter to write for Luke.”
Sinor – a two-time Perce Johns medallist and two time premiership player – will be joined in a three-man leadership group by vice-captain Riley Knight and deputy vice-captain Sam Rowland.
On Sinor’s appointment senior coach Jade Sheedy said, “From day one in my time at the football club, Joey has been a standout leader of the group. On the field he is ruthless with his actions to help us win every week, and off the field sets a great example for his team mates, both young and old.”
Please join us in welcoming our 2023 leadership group, as well as thanking Luke Thompson for his outstanding service as captain of our Football Club.

2023 Leadership Group, L-R: Sam Rowland (DVC), Joseph Sinor (Captain), Riley Knight (VC).

Luke Thompson, the 2020 & 2021 Premiership skipper and the Club’s longest serving captain, will step down from the leadership role in 2023.
