Straight From The Sauce – Round 10

Sam Jacobs reviews Round 10 vs Adelaide

Was a very good result beating Adelaide SANFL team on Saturday at Adelaide Oval. It was nice for some of our players who have some great memories playing at the ground and also for the players who were yet to play a game to be on Adelaide Oval. We started the game slow scoreboard wise, but we were confident in the way we were playing and needed to tidy up a few areas of our game. We were able to do this and we finished the last 3/4’s kicking 14 to 3 to win the game.

Riley Knight was back to his best in a really strong midfield game, 27 touches and 13 tackles was a real highlight. Adam D’Aloia again led the game in clearances with 11 and he also showed his ability to break out from centre bounces. Connor Ballenden was important like he always is, and he had 15 score involvements from 20 possessions. Sam Rowland performed strongly on McHenry and had 21 touches with 8 tackles, and it was great to have our skipper back, with Joey having 18 first half possessions and his pressure being a highlight.

We come into the bye sitting 7-3 and amongst the top 5 teams and we look forward to the challenges that continue to come.

Enjoy the break Eagle fans and we will see you at Prospect Oval in 2 weeks time.
