We went down to Adelaide by 16 points at home on Sunday. As Coaches and Players, we own that our performance isn’t where it needs to be and that we are working hard to rectify this as quickly as we can. In a quick summary we turned the ball over 28 more times than the Crows and we weren’t able to defend transition well enough, losing scores off transition by 4 goals. We don’t accept that it was a bad skills day and that it will just turn around, we need to be better when we get momentum in games and put some scoreboard pressure back on the opposition. Positively we started the game well again which has been a constant throughout this year and had periods throughout the game where we were on top.
Key performers on the day were Joe Sinor, the skipper is leading from the front as he had 30 touches at 83%, 8 tackles, 7 score involvements and 4 clearances. Sam Rowland did a fantastic role for us in keeping McHenry quiet, he also had 23 touches, 3 tackles and kicked a goal. Luke McKay and Cam Fleeton both had strong games and both building into some really good form.
We have the bye this week as we look to train and execute a few areas of our game, and as weird as the season has been, we are still in 5th spot and our destiny is in our own hands.
Thanks for the continued support from all our members and fans.
