Straight From The Sauce – Round 18

If they say a week is a long time in footy, try 6 weeks! It was great for the boys to get the reward after training very hard through this period, but just as importantly for our members and supporters.

Going down to Noarlunga on Saturday we executed how we are wanting to play, and we saw our trademark style of scoring power through periods of the game, but most importantly we executed at stoppage and defensively. Confident the boys can use this as a springboard to taking on Norwood this week who are in red hot form, but we know we can match them if we play our best.

Naturally with a strong performance like that we had a lot of contributors, highlighted by James Rowe with 29 touches, 6 tackles, 11 score involvements and 4.2. I want to highlight guys who played a significant role for the team when they don’t always get the credit, Jack Firns, Bailey Hann, Sam Nicholls, Cam Fleeton, Lukas Cooke were really important so well done to them.

Huge game for us this weekend against Norwood, we can’t wait to be back home on Maughan Thiem Kia Oval in front of our supporters and put in a really strong showing and see what we can do.
