Was nice to get away from the South game with the win. Don’t want to take any credit away from South as I thought they performed well and it was a good game of footy, but the boys got outworked and we played inconsistent footy throughout the day. It was a big week celebrating the two milestones of Goldy and Reddo and its great we were still able to get a win for them which im sure makes it that bit more special.
Luke McKay continues on his impressive form to start the year and gave us the spark at times when we needed it, alongside Luke, James Rowe, Connor Ballenden, Sam Rowland all performed strongly. It was nice to have Troy Menzel back in the team and he had some important moments and we leant on his leadership throughout the day.
In what has been a positive start to the year and every game needing to perform, the boys are looking forward to the state weekend bye. We will rest this week and then look to get some work in over the weekend as we start to prepare for Glenelg.
Thank you to the supporters who came along and celebrated Goldy and Reddo, they are much loved figures not only at our club, but within in the SANFL and their resume’s stack up against the best.
Good luck to the boys playing state this weekend, but enjoy a weekend off Eagles supporters and we will see you back at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval for round 7.
