UNDER 18s
The Under 18s lost a tight one to North Adelaide, going down by 1 point in a low scoring match – 8 goals 13 points (61), to North Adelaide’s 9 goals 8 points (62).
There was never a lot between the 2 sides all day and with the breeze in the first quarter we didn’t quite take advantage of our Inside 50 opportunities and kicked 2 goals 3 points to lead by 2 points at quarter time. We defended pretty well but the Roosters kicked straight and kicked 3 goals to our 1 goal 2 points and we were 8 points down at half time.
A similar story in the 3rd quarter to the first and our kicking was a bit off, this time kicking 2 goals 6 points to 1 goal 3 points and we were 1 point up at three quarter time – set for an epic last quarter – which it was!
We started the quarter brilliantly kicking 3 goals in the first 10 minutes but the Roosters hit back with some good clearance work and had the ball inside their forward 50 for the last part of the quarter and although we had a running shot to take back the lead late in the game it wasn’t to be and North were deserved winners.
It was a great credit to the lads that they kept running and working and giving us a chance to win the game.
As for our best players, Lachie Sands and Jett Hasting were very good in the midfield and up forward, Ray Sumner continued his good form with some great ball winning and use, and Jack Cook was a running machine off half back and defended well, Jake Hall in his first under 18 game gave us some good run and ball getting and Zac Schwarz continued his form finding a lot of the footy in his midfield role.
This week in addition to Jake Hall, Dougal Ashby also played his first game of Under 18 footy and did a great job for us in defence.
Coming up this week we play the top team Glenelg at home on Saturday from 11am.

UNDER 16s
Four debutants pulled on the Eagles guernsey this week for the Under 16’s, Christian Smith, Connor Robertson, Finn Carey & Jack Marks.
North Adelaide jumped out of the blocks and certainly came to play, kicking 5 goals 4 pts to our 1 goal 1 in the first quarter, North extended their lead to 40 points early in the second quarter, with our lads showing character from this point and got themselves back in the game to get with in 3 points half way through the third quarter. However North steadied and went on to win the game by 23 points.
Our Goal kickers include Hunter Wellgreen kicking 3, Sebastian Cavallaro 2, Perry Szklarz 2 with singles to Connor Robertson, Jack Marks & Finn Carey.
Better players include defenders Ben Scheuffele, Mitch Harris & Lachie Marshall Bates, with midfielders Jack Leys & Khye Maddern having an impact and Sebastian Cavallaro doing some good work up forward.
This week we take on Glenelg at Home as we look forward to a more consistence approach across the Four quarters.
