UNDER 18s
The Under 18s had a good win against South Adelaide on Saturday, winning 14 goals 7 points to South Adelaide’s 7 goals 8 points. It was an important win as we needed it to secure a finals place.
We started well as we have done for most of the year and with an active and efficient forward line we took a 19 point lead into the quarter time break. The second quarter South Adelaide attacked well but our defence held firm only allowing 1 point and we kicked 3 goals 1 ourselves and held a 37 point lead at half time.
The Panthers outplayed us in the third quarter with a strong work rate and some good centre square work and gave up 4 goals for the quarter – we did manage to kick 3 goals ourselves so we had a 31 point lead at three quarter time with our season on the line. The players responded very well with a strong quarter into the breeze and we won the quarter by 2 goals to round out a good win by 41 points.
Charlie West was an important player for us up forward (5 goals) and in our midfield and he was supported in our midfield by Jack Cook, Zac Schwarz and Harry Dodd. Oskar Kilpatrick repelled many South Adelaide attacks with his marking and spoiling and he was well supported by Jack Hankins. Jack Gray kicked 4 goals up forward.
We have a bye this week as we prepare for our first semi final against Sturt on Saturday week, 31 August 2024.

UNDER 16s
In our last game of the 2024 Season, we were keen to finish off on a good note whilst South were keen to remain in the top 2 to keep the double chance in Finals.
The players struggled to pick up the tempo of the game right from the start, with South kicking 4 goals to no score in the first quarter. The second quarter our best for the game in which South only outscored us by 1 point, but took a handy lead of 32 points into the main break.
Unfortunately we couldn’t make in roads in the second half and South showed us why they were a Top 2 side and went on to win by 90 points.
With Zack Holdsworth & Hamish Wildbore kicking our only goals. Tate Wolthers, Jensen Frantz, Jack Leys, Riley Miller, Elijah Buckskin & Coby Bigg battled hard all day, however it was South’s weight of numbers that took control of the Game.
I would like to say a big Thankyou to our Coaching Staff, Tony Calio, Kym Markwick, Paul Sheldon, Liam Galanti (S&C), Wayne Prideaux & Simon Maddern for their support to myself and the players. History tells us that if we keep on trying to Develop & support these young men they will be better for it in the future.
To All the parents thankyou for being there for your son & the support you provide in the way of Travel and in times of need.
To our League, Development Team and the Under 18’s who embark on a Finals campaign, all the best over the coming weeks.
