UNDER 18s

The Under 18s had a very good win by 85 points against Norwood on Saturday, responding well to our disappointing effort against Glenelg the previous Round.

We won all four quarters and played a good style of Footy where our pressure and contest work was good and we were able to finish our work off.

We had many good players and Oskar Kilpatrick, rucking in the absence of our No1 ruck Griffyn Hansen did a power of work against a taller opponent and gave our midfielders a chance with his contest.

Our State squad members, Jevan Phillipou, Harry Dodd and Kade Herbert did well in our defence and midfield and Tyler Welsh on loan from Adelaide FC was a strong forward presence with 8 goals and he was well supported by Zac Schwarz  with 4 goals.

Jamie Russell-Swansson and Flynn Young, both returning to the team this week added some tackle pressure and ball getting, rounded off a strong team performance.

This week we look forward to playing 2nd placed Central Districts at X Convenience Oval from 11.00am.

UNDER 16s

With another good performance this week against Norwood on our Home ground, Maughan Thiem Kia we were able to have a good win by 89pts.

Hayden Grieger, Zak Lloyd, Jailen Mundy Tate Sampson and Jai Stokes all from our Metropolitan zoned debuted on the weekend and had the joy of singing the Eagles song in Eagle colours.

With only an 8 point lead at Half, Norwood probably should have been a little closer if not in front unfortunately they were inaccurate in front of Goal kicking 3 goals 9 to our 5 goals 5 for the Half.,

After half time we were much better at winning the ball back and were able to have a good second half in kicking 13 goals to 1.

With 10 different goal kickers the lads were able to identify players in better positions going forward. Zack Holdsworth 4, Tate Wolthers 3, Tate Sampson 3, Michael Daly 2,and singles to Hunter Wellgreen, Perry Szklarz, Hayden Grieger, Seb Cavallaro, Hamish Watson & Lachie Marshall Bates.

Tate Wolthers thru our midfield continues to shine, Zack Holdsworth up forward got to good spots, Perry Szklarz in the midfield worked tirelessly as did Riley Miller down back along with Seb Cavallaro & Jai Stokes on our wings.

This week we venture out to Elizabeth to take on Top of Table Central Districts.
