UNDER 18s
The Under 18s had a good win against South Adelaide on the weekend, winning by 14 points.
We started well kicking with the wind and kicked the first 3 goals of the game and took a 22 point lead into quarter time. We had a pretty good second quarter generating a lot of Inside 50s although inaccuracy was hurting both teams – we kicked 2 goals 6 points for the quarter and South kicked 3goals 5 points. At half time we had kicked 6 goals 11 points and had a 17 point lead. We defended well in the third quarter but didn’t really take advantage of the wind kicking 3 goals 3 points with again some chances not taken but we were 30 points up at three quarter time. We controlled the early part of the last quarter and led by as much as 36 points 10 minutes in but the Panthers hit back kicking 5 goals straight for the quarter to our 2 goals 2 points. Final scores were Eagles 11 goals 16 points to South 10 goals 8 points.
Jack Cook continues his great form in the midfield supported well by Lachie Sands and Zane Peucker. Freddie Wilson competed well again in ruck and Jamie Russell-Swansson was a livewire forward kicking 2 goals and laying some strong tackles. Jack Marks kicked 3 good goals in only his second game and Joel Hill was a strong rebounding defender.
This week we debuted Khye Maddern who showed his strength and courage in our forward line kicking 2 valuable goals. We have played 31 players (from our list of 51) in the first six matches and we are looking forward to providing more players with opportunities over the coming weeks.
Our next game is against North Adelaide on Tuesday night May 6th at Maughan Thiem KIA Oval starting at 7.20pm. Our College aligned players commence their season this week as well so we wish them all the best.

UNDER 16s
In near perfect conditions on Saturday, our Under 16 team played South Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
Deegan Sparrow returned to the team from injury and Mason Newsome made his Under 16 debut.
We started the game full of running and energy and by the 10-minute mark of the first quarter, we had opened up a 4-goal lead. Disappointingly, South Adelaide kicked the last three of the quarter which reduced our lead to just 4 points at the first break.
Our intensity and work rate dropped off a little in the second quarter, giving away clearances and territory and South capitalised, kicking 4 goals for the quarter and taking a 10-point lead into half time.
Early in the third quarter, goals to Jed Remphrey and Giacomo Musci gave us some momentum, and when Tate Sampson goaled late in the quarter, scores were level at the final break.
With a slight breeze in the final term, South Adelaide took the ascendency with two early goals. From this point, although our Eagles boys didn’t give up, it was a difficult task to snatch the win, eventually going down by 9 points.
Better players for the Eagles were Giacomo Musci (4 goals), Jed Remphrey (4 goals), along with Harry Scholes, Will Andrea and Hensley Bonney-Tucker. Toby Clogg also contributed well with 2 goals.
We now cast our attention forward to our next game against North Adelaide at home, on Tuesday May 6, starting at 5:00 pm
