Returning to the Court after the bye saw the start of the second round of games for the Novita SANFL Wheelchair Football League.
R4 we faced off with last years Premiers Sturt with both teams having some key players unavailable. It certainly made for some pre-game uncertainty of how each of the sides would go.
Wayne Hale took the leadership role of Captain / Coach and performed brilliantly both on and off the court. Our game plan was simple but smart and every player that hit the court executed to near perfection for the majority of the match. With two standout individual performances from Kane Downie (12 goals 2 points) and Steve Edge (10 goals straight) we recorded a dominant win of 114 points.
What was pleasing was the whole of team contribution across the 40 minutes. The forwards were well supported by all other players on the court including Soraj Habib, Wayne Hale and Adam Stehniak. With such dominance we were able to roll Langdon Williams, Simon Albury and Alex Kouts for their first League runs of the season which is excellent to provide experience and build depth.
Our Development team also continued its unbeaten record, beating Sturt 49-8
We now look forward to taking on Norwood in R5 and continuing this form.
