Wheelchair Wrap – Round 6

Round 6 Match Report vs Norwood

It was a top of the table clash seeing us come up against Norwood. We saw this as a potential danger game with some of our key players unavailable and the opposition able to field a full-strength side.

Adam Roocke and Wayne Hale were again standouts in defence and ensured that we stuck to our game plan.  Soraj Habib was superb in the centre with outstanding chair speed and sure hands, he provided quality delivery to our forwards all night. Trevor Jarrett made his return in style scoring 12 goals and was well supported by Steve Edge continuing his great form extending his lead as the competition’s leading goal scorer.

The final score saw us win the game by a convincing 54 points extending our unbeaten run to 6 games. The most pleasing thing is we continue to display solid team performances with everyone playing to the team plan and with our development side having a close hard fought win we now have more depth as a squad.

In the development game Steve Knight scored the winning goal with seconds remaining. Adam Stehniak was great in the centre and Luke Hale was solid in defence.

This week we are looking to be back at full strength as we face Sturt which will present another test. Thankyou to everyone who supported us on Friday night and we look forward to seeing plenty of Gold, Green and Blue as we near the pointy end of the season.
