Round 7 saw us come up against last season Premiers, Sturt. Both clubs fielded strong teams and it was set to be a test for both sides.
Our first quarter was near perfect and we led 56-0. Our defence, led by Adam Roocke and Soraj Habib, was impassable and Cooper Spillane, returning from national basketball duties, seemed to be everywhere on the court, leading to a best on ground performance. Steve Edge continued his great form with 3 goals, but more importantly played a team game blocking and bringing other forwards into the game.
Trevor Jarrett and Wayne Hale scored 10 and 6 goals respectively showing the versatility the playing group provides. It was another complete team performance, resulting in a 118-35 victory.
Our development team was again fantastic winning its 6 game for the season. It is clear the team game plan flows through both sides and places us well for diversity in selections.
We now have our final bye heading in to the two final minor rounds and our ladder position guarantees a Grand Final appearance. We now focus on maintaining good form over the next three weeks to best prepare for the GF.
