WWTFC Statement – 2020 Season Postponed

Dear Our Valued Partners & Supporters,

As you would no doubt be aware, today the AFL, together with SANFL, announced the postponement of all State League competitions, including Reserves and the U18 Torrens University Cup, until May 31 in response to the coronavirus.

A review of competitions which have already commenced, including the SANFL Statewide Super Women’s League and U16 Torrens University Cup, is continuing, with a shortened season under consideration. An announcement regarding these competitions will be made shortly.

The decision to postpone the 2020 season was a united one between the AFL, SANFL and every other State League body, and one which SANFL Clubs supported.

Along with the entire football industry, our priority is to look after the health and safety of our players, coaches, staff, members, fans and broader community. As you can imagine this is an extremely difficult time for our club which will obviously have an enormous impact on us financially.

With regards to club memberships and sponsorship, please understand this decision to postpone competitions has happened very quickly. We are therefore working through these issues and will keep you informed as soon as we can.

We understand the likelihood of the broader impact of coronavirus on our members and sponsors and this will be taken into consideration in our decision making. In such unprecedented times, now more than ever is when we need your continued support and trust moving forward.

I am sure you can appreciate the constantly changing situation and we will continue to work through the impact on the Club’s operations and provide further updates as soon as possible.
