UNDER 18s
The Under 18s had a tough encounter with Glenelg on Saturday, ultimately losing by 10 points – Eagles 9 goals 12 points to Glenelg 12 goals 4 points.
It was played in tricky conditions with a cross breeze impacting the play – the Tigers dominated play in the first quarter but we defended well and kept them to just the one goal.
We got a bit more of the footy in the midfield in the second quarter and created some scoring chances for ourselves and we kicked 2 goals whilst holding Glenelg until the last few minutes where they kicked 2 late goals to go in at half time 14 points up.
The third quarter was pretty even in terms of inside 50s but again Glenelg capitalised and kicked 4 goals although we kept ourselves in the game with 3 goals of our own. At three quarter time the match was still within our grasp with a 19 point margin to overcome.
We played some good footy in the last quarter but didn’t quite capitalise on the chances we created kicking 4 goals whilst Glenelg did, kicking 3 goals of their own so were deserved winners by the 10 point margin.
Jevan Phillipou continues his strong season in our midfield, we welcomed back Isaac Edwards to the team and he gave use some great drive from the wing and Harry Dodd had some good play through our midfield as well. Jamie Russell-Swansson (2 goals) and Albert Ebert (1 goal) applied a lot of pressure up forward and Tate Delmenico, returning from State duties took some good intercept marks in our defence, well supported by Jack Hankins.
So to this week and we face the third placed Double Blues on Saturday at Thomas Farms Oval (Unley) from 11.00am.

UNDER 16s
In very windy conditions we came up against Glenelg for the Third time this year, at home on Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
Beginning well we kicked the first goal and held Glenelg goal less until just after midway thru the quarter in which they kicked the last 2 and took a 12 point lead into the first change. The second quarter similar to the first in which we began well and got within 1 point half way thru the second, Glenelg kicked a goal late and went into half time 7 points up.
Our third quarter was much the same as our first 2 in which we kicked the first goal however Glenelg kicked the next 3 and opened up a 19 point lead at the last change. The lads battled out the last quarter but we were unable to make in roads and Glenelg went on to win by 20 points.
Lacie Marshall Bates kicked 3 goals, Tate Wolthers 1, Tahj Madigan 1 & Anthony Zerella playing his first game kicked 1 goal as well. Tate Wolthers in the midfield found plenty of the ball, Mitch Harris down back returned to some form, Zak Lloyd forward, Khye Maddern in the Midfield, Lachie Marshall Bates & Jai Stokes had some good moments.
This week we take on Sturt who are on Top of the U16 ladder out at Thomas Farms Oval this Saturday.
