The Under 18s had  a very good win against West Adelaide on Thursday night at City Mazda Stadium, running out winners by 32 points.

It was a tough, contested match and not a lot separated the teams all night.  We had a blow early losing our ruckman Henry Smith to concussion a couple of minutes into the game.  We seconded Harry Dawkins into the role and he and Indiana Dorian battled really well all night in making a contest and giving us some chances around the stoppages.  Westies threatened early in the last quarter and if they had kicked a bit straighter (2 goals 6 points) the scores would have been much closer and we would have been under a bit more pressure.

That said we did close the game out well kicking the last 2 goals of the quarter.  Josh Morris continued his fine form with 5 goals and Michael Frederick was very good in the contest with his defensive work a real highlight, giving us quite a few scoring opportunities.  Lochie Hoile and Harry Schoenberg found plenty of the ball in the midfield, Caleb Poulter was very strong on his wing and Lachie Jones was a very good defender for us.  This week Taj Schofield made his debut with us and was very prominent in our midfield as well.

This week we have Central Districts on Saturday at X Convenience Oval from 10:20am.

We also wish Taj Schofield all the best as he represents Australia in the national Under 17 team that will take on New Zealand on Saturday at Marvel Stadium . In addition we have a number of players who will be part of the AFL Hub (SA) Camp from Tuesday 23rd April to Saturday 27th April.  As part of this camp they will participate in a trial game against WA.  We wish all the best to Luke Beecken, Trent Burgoyne, Jamie Coff, Lochie Hoile,  Lachie McNeil, Jackson Mead, Josh Morris, Kozzy Pickett, Harry Schoenberg and Zane WIilliams  for the week and also in their trials.
