Vili’s U18’s Match Report – Round 11

Sponsored by VILI'S FAMILY BAKERY

The Under 18s had a good game against West Adelaide on a Sunday afternoon in Round 11.

We took control of the game with a very good (and accurate!) first quarter kicking six goals straight and taking a 28 point lead into quarter time. We built on that with some good team footy every quarter and finally ran out winners by 50 points.

We had many good players and Zac Schwarz and Kade Herbert were great competitors in our midfield, Charlie West playing his first game this year was a big presence as a key forward (11 marks) and his forward work was complemented by Izaac Niemann (5 goals). Jordan Tilbrook and Tarik Sauer were very strong in the contest all day.

This week in addition to Charlie West, we were able to debut Will Hawker and Judah Netschitowsky (2 goals) and they contributed well to our win and showed their talents.

We have a two week competition bye this week as the Under 18 National Championships continue.  It was great to see Pat Toole and Tom Luck make their debuts for SA this weekend and they joined Pat Weckert and Cal Fairall in the SA Team who played Victoria Metropolitan. We wish all the boys well as they vy for selection for the remainder of the Championships – Tyler Welsh, Kade Herbert and Rome Burgoyne are also in the squad.

Our competition will resume on Saturday July 1st when we take on South Adelaide at Flinders University Stadium from 1.15pm.
