Vili’s U18’s Match Report – Round 13

Sponsored by VILI'S FAMILY BAKERY

The Under 18s lost their top of the table clash with Central Districts, going down by 5 points.

The Dogs started well and had 4 goals on the board before we kicked one ourselves and with the aid of the last goal of the quarter we were 12 points down at quarter time.

Our second quarter was much better and we moved the ball well and gave our forwards a chance and with the aid of a couple of very late goals, we took a 3 point lead into half time.

Starting brightly in the third quarter with the first goal to extend our lead to 9 points, the Bulldogs then rallied with the remaining 2 goals of that quarter and then kicked the first 2 goals of the last quarter so we found ourselves 16 points down with 15 minutes to play.

We got our game going again and kicked 2 goals to bring the margin back to 5 points but Centrals were able to secure the deserved victory – 20 shots to 15 shots reinforces that the better team won on the day.

Our players all battled hard and Harry Dodd continues his fine form in our midfield, Isaac Edwards and Tyler Welsh were threats with 3 goals each, Will McKay and Jake Andrews battled hard in defence and Zac Schwarz, Darcy Hudson and Tom Luck all battled hard and had some good moments in our midfield.

This week we play Norwood at Norwood Oval from 1.15pm and this is a team we have lost to twice this year so will be a big challenge.
