Vili’s U18’s Match Report – Round 2

The Under 18s lost in a high standard match against Norwood on Sunday, kicking 7 goals 5 points to Norwood’s 9 goals 8 points, a margin of 15 points.

Both teams started well and the ball was moving quickly around the ground with scores level at 4 goals each at quarter time.

Norwood got on top of us in the second quarter and kicked 2 goals and held us goalless.

We played some better defensive footy in the third quarter and won the quarter kicking 2 goals to Norwood’s one and we were very strong in the last quarter, but could not capitalise on our Forward 50 entries kicking 1 goal 4points from our 15 entries.

Although we closed within 4 points we couldn’t quite get that goal to put us in front and Norwood kicked 2 late goals to be the deserved winner.

We had some very good players and Kade Herbert and Jedd Thomson were strong in our midfield and Jake Andrews, Darcy Hudson, Harry Dodd and Tate Delmenico were very strong defenders all day.

This week we debuted Ray Sumner, Brodie Harris and Lachie Lucas who all showed some good signs throughout the game.

This week we are looking forward to playing South Adelaide on Good Friday from 1pm at Maughan Thiem Oval
