Villi’s U16’s Match Report – Round 8

Sponsored by VILLI’S FAMILY BAKERY

With Dylan Turner making his Under 16 Debut this week against Centrals, he became the 45th player to pull on the Eagles Guernsey this year for the 16’s.

Whilst our performances haven’t been at a standard that we would like for the past couple of weeks, it’s been our consistency for the whole year that has been up & down. The players are giving their all and it is unfortunately lapses of concentration that is costing us, particular from a win the ball back situation (defending).

This week Centrals got off to a good start on their home ground and opened up a 9 goal lead by the main break. We showed some good signs in the second half and were better from a defensive point of view however Centrals played much better than we did on the day and ran our deserved winners by 84 points.

Our better players included Jevan Phillipou, Jamie Russell Swansson, Tain Mathie, Hayden Willmott, Brock Jamieson & Owen Hartley Brown. With 5 individual goal kickers Will Young, Jevan Phillipou, Lachie Marshall Bates, Jamie Russell Swansson & Cooper Quick.

With the bye week this week, we look forward to taking on North Adelaide in Round Nine at home the week after.
