Villi’s U16’s Match Report – Round 9

Sponsored by VILLI’S FAMILY BAKERY

Well done to the U16 lads this week after a couple of weeks of bad losses they stuck to task and provided a 4 quarter performance that displayed much greater effort and pressure.

Persistence pays off and it was good to see Cooper Reschke play his first game at U16’s level, Cooper was in the squad last year but didn’t play due to a knee injury & this year he had a foot injury and was in a moon boot up until around 6 weeks ago.

In a tight half of Footy we held a 2 point lead going into the main break. Our third quarter which was our most productive kicking 5 goals 3 to North’s no score we opened up 35 point lead going into the final quarter in which we were challenged but were able to respond at critical times running out victors by 25 points.

With much greater contributions from everyone our better players include Jamie Russell Swansson, Hayden Willmott, Max Farrugia, Owen Hartley Brown, Jevan Phillipou & Brock Jamieson. With Cooper Reschke kicking 3 goals, 2 each to Jevan Phillipou & Jamie Russell Swansson and singles to Hayden Willmott, Max Farrugia, Dylan Turner & Cooper Quick.

We look forward to taking on Glenelg this week at Home.
