Round 8 we came up against Norwood at Coopers Stadium. We were determined as ever to maintain our good form and keep ourselves planted well at the top of the ladder as we start the second half of our season.
We knew the game style of Norwood and we went in with a mindset of working through this with patience and purpose. They held us to a goal each quarter for Q1 & Q2 but pleasingly we had majority of the play.
Q3 we were not to be contained and kicked 5 goals with the match in our full control. We continue to write a new story for the Eagles SANFLW and this week was no different. First time in our history holding a team goal-less and our highest score against Norwood. Our contribution up front continues to be a feature of our team football ethos with 6 different goal kickers showing on the score sheet.
This week is a top of the table clash v South Adelaide and we can’t wait for this game. South’s form is strong so far this season which brings a fantastic challenge for our group. It is the second to last home game for the year for us and we will celebrate 50 games for the in-form Marlie Fiegert, a local Henley product who has come through our pathways.
We would love to see a big crowd for our game as we link in for a triple header with our Mens Reserves and League teams at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
As always thanks for the support and see you at the footy.
