Was a positive day at Prospect with a 4-quarter effort leading to a 69-point win vs North Adelaide.
In challenging conditions, I thought the players adapted well to whatever was thrown at us with it being windy and wet throughout the day. We were able to put early scoreboard pressure on North which is always good to start this way. Our tackling pressure was a highlight with us being +16 in this stat at quarter time. To North’s credit I thought they worked back into the game in the 2nd but they couldn’t get scoreboard pressure on, we were able to win the quarter 2.1 to 1.5.
After half-time I thought the boys came out and executed well, we made a few adjustments but the staple throughout the day was the pressure we put them under. In the 3rd quarter we were +7 for tackles and +7 for contested possessions so we won the footy but also pressured them as well.
In the last quarter we had our aim to simply win the quarter as North has been a fast-finishing team this year and we were able to win the quarter by 11 points.
Better players on the day were Ted Clohesy, Riley Knight, Jack Hayes (6 goals), Jordan Lukac, and I thought Max Litster had his best game for the year.
With a 6 day break ahead of Glenelg back at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval, we look forward to testing ourselves against one of the premier teams over the last decade.
