On paper we had a strong line up with our U18 State players returning and the vibe was high. Our first 5 minutes of Q1 we looked sharp and when Waters kicked an amazing goal early we thought we were in for a good day at the Bay.
North had other ideas and they flicked the switch and put in one of their best performances for the year. We didn’t handle the pressure, we were outnumbered at contest all over the ground through their work-rate. From above the game looked on their terms for majority of the day.
We missed some opportunities in our front half but a pattern emerging of teams consistently flooding our front half and us not being able to find a way to score. We will review this one with some vigour over another bye week and seek to find a way to bring back our scoring power which should get our form trending in the right direction.
With four games left before finals we are lucky enough to still hold half a game clear on top of the ladder of the back of our strong season start. Now being brought back to the pack we will need to dust off and respond in R11 v Sturt.
