Rell’s Review – Round 12

We knew this would be a game defining round against South who are always hard to play against. To say it was an arm wrestle is an understatement.

As a coaching group we were so proud of how the group dug deep to get back in the game when South skipped out to a 12 point lead late in quarter 2. This was based on a solid defensive model that was executed by the players with maturity and composure.

The proudest piece is our ability to understand the moments in the game and it was done all without a match clock and scoreboard. It took a whole of team effort with calm composure under immense opposition pressure.

This team win now assures us playing in the finals series and puts us in great position to secure a top two spot. We have quickly turned our attention to playing Glenelg this weekend at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval who are putting together some nice footy. We would love to see as many supporters at this game as possible to ride the wave to finals for our season – Go Eagles!
