Villi’s U16’s Match Report – Round 1

After Trials against Sturt & Norwood and a Pre Season that began late November the players were keen to get the Season on the way by taking on South Adelaide down at Noarlunga.

Our start on Saturday pretty much mirrored the starts of our Trial Games with the Opposition picking up the intensity from the very start where as we worked out selves into the Game after Half Time.

Whilst at Half Time we trailed by 6 Goals I felt that our best was good enough to match it with South Adelaide, we just needed to work a bit harder and have more of those good moments.

To the lads credit they never gave in and got within 21 points late in the third quarter. With a better second half in kicking 5 goals 5 to South’s 4 goals 6 it gives us some confidence taking on West Adelaide this Good Friday.

Our better players on Saturday included Mitch Harris & Lachie Marshall Bates who played in our backlines, whilst Jack Leys found a bit of the Footy thru the midfield, Hunter Wellgreen presented well in our Forward Half with Khye Maddern & Perry Szklarz doing some good things thru the Midfield and Forward.

Goal kickers include Hunter Wellgreen & Mason Dohnt who kicked 2 each. Singles to Perry Szklarz, Tate Wolthers and Jackson Lucas.

With West Adelaide on Friday at Hi Sense we look forward to playing a more consistent brand of Footy.
