Rell’s Review – Round 5

Narelle Smith reviews Round 5 v Glenelg

Round 5 saw us come up against Glenelg who even though are sitting outside the top four we knew it would be a close contest.
We couldn’t be separated after Q1 with both sides kicking 2.1. The first half was a super physical and tight batter with us holding the slightest of margins 1 point at the main break.
The second half broke open a bit more with us managing 3 majors in Q3 but Glenelg held us close kicking two of their own. The last quarter we managed to kick away with three straight and holding our oppo to 1.1. It was a physical and fast game that we are pleased to get the points.
We had two debutants Anika Tran and Felicity Ward who showed they belong at the level and that our depth of squad is good.
Holding top spot on the SANFLW Ladder is great reward for our group who continue to work hard. We now face our old foe in South Adelaide who sit second and are also looming as a great challenge.
If you haven’t watched the Eagles W team get out to a game – they really are a joy to watch.
