As a football team we knew the importance of the R8 clash to keep us in touch with the top 4.
Centrals are always a tough team to play, physical and offensive. For majority of the game we were in control and played consistent football the way we want to play. Centrals controlled us in quarter 3 and we were able to weather that storm restricting a running dogs outfit to 1.2.
It was pleasing for our forwards to hit the scoreboard and show we have got some ability in our front half. The last 4 minutes of the last quarter was to be our undoing and the Centrals pressure tipped the game to the small margin. With 5 goals being kicked between both sides it was a pressure cooker.
We lacked composure in some critical moments and allowed Centrals to walk away with a 2 point win and to say it is a disappointment is an understatement.
We now head towards the bye for State Women’s sitting 6th and two games out of the 4, which we feel is not reflective of our ability. We will review what we need to and put this loss behind us and work towards fixing the small things to reach our full potential.
