Round 7 Under 18’s Match Report

Eagles 15.8 (98) def Norwood 6.5 (41)
Goal Scorers: Coff 7, Beecken 2, Barnett, Carter, Frederick, Jones, McNeil, Schoenberg
Best Players: Coff, McNeil, Frederick, Smith H, Jones, Schoenberg

The under 18s had a good win against Norwood on Saturday winning 15 goals 8 points to Norwood’s 6 goals 5 points, a margin of 57 points.

We started well kicking the first 4 goals but for the next two and bit quarters the Redlegs outscored us kicking 6 goals to our 5 goals and the margin at three quarter time was 21 points in our favour. The players played a very good final quarter kicking 6 goals 1 point whilst holding Norwood to just the one behind.

We had a number of good players and Jamie Coff with his 7 goals was a key target for us all day, marking and presenting well, Lachie McNeil was a busy midfielder getting plenty of the ball and he was supported well in the midfield by Harry Schoenberg and Henry Smith gave them some good supply with his ruck work and work around the ground.

Michael Frederick was lively both on the wing and as a forward and Lachie Jones led the defence well. Taj Schofield was very good for us in the first half before injury cut short his day just after half time.

This week we have the bye with a few State trials on – we have players in the Under 16s, Under 17s and Under 18s squads so we wish them all the best for their trial games. After the break we resume with a match playing South Adelaide at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday 1 June.
