Vili’s U18’s Match Report – Round 6

Sponsored by VILI'S FAMILY BAKERY

The Under 18s had a very good win against North Adelaide on Saturday. It was a low scoring game and we kicked 7 goals 14 points to the Roosters 3 goals 8 points to record a 30 point win. We opened well as we have been doing but our kicking was astray and we led 3 goals 6 points to 1 goal at quarter time.

The second quarter saw us defending well and we held North to just the one goal. In the third quarter it was a tight tussle with North getting on top early but some late goals gave us a handy break at three quarter time. We lost our radar again in the last quarter kicking 1 goal 4 points but once again we defended well and we were able to close out the game.

We had many good players and Darcy Hudson in defence and Brody Mair in our midfield set the tone early with their contest work, repeatedly winning the ball and putting us into attack. Tom Luck rucked well and was a presence around the ground and up forward, Jake Andrews and Tate Delemenico were very strong in defence and Cal Fairall and Kade Herbert (2 goals) were also good performers in our midfield and defence.

This week Dom Parisi played his first Under 18 game – a year after rupturing his ACL in our under 16s and he did well with 20 possessions and a goal from his wing and Cohen Ziersch played his first game this year and gave us a great contest in our forward line.

Next Saturday we play Sturt at Wigan Oval from 10.00am in what will be another tough challenge as we wish our College players all the best for their season which also start next weekend.
