UNDER 18s

The Under 18s had a good win against Sturt on Saturday, in another tough affair, we prevailed by 20 points. 9 goals 11points to Sturt’s 6 goals 9 points. The game was played in good conditions with no breeze and after a slow start in the first quarter we kicked 2 goals late to take a 4 point lead into quarter time.

Kicking the first goal of the second quarter was an ideal start but the Blues then answered with 2 of their own and with a behind kicked right on the siren we were 1 point in front at half time.

Our second half was some of the best footy we have played this year – it was a tough tight contest and we kicked 6 goals to Sturt’s 3 goals to create the final margin of 20 points.

We had a lot of good players on the day – Tate Delmenico was a very good defender repelling many attacks and he was well supported in defence by Oskar Kilpatrick, Jack Cook and Jack Hankins. Griff Hansen and Jett Hasting led our midfield with some strong performances in ruck and around the ball and Lachie Sands was a very good player from his wing with 2 goals. Jack Gray continues to provide a good option for us in attack with 3 goals.

This week we were pleased to debut James Chalubek and James Stockman who both made good contributions to the win.

Coming up we play West Adelaide at home on Saturday from 1.50pm.

UNDER 16s

Up against the ladder leaders in Sturt our first quarter was full of fight until the last few minutes of the quarter in which Sturt kicked 2 goals quickly and took a lead into the first break of 13 points.

Our start to the second quarter again was good, but again Sturt were able rebound very easy from our attack and kick the last 6 goals of the quarter to take a 50 point lead into Half time.

Our second half was a much better in the fact that we were able to nullify Sturts run of goals and went on to win the last quarter kicking 3 goals to 2. However the damage was done in the first half and Sturt proved why they were on top of the ladder and went on to win by 77 points.

Zac Holdsworth kicked 2 goals with Lachie Marshall Bates & Mason Dohnt kicking 1 each.

Tate Wolthers in the midfield continued his good form, Perry Szklarz & Zack Loyd had some good moments as did Joel Southwood on the wing, Angus Menta continues to Develop as a tall in Ruck whilst Jai Stokes also had some good moments.

This week we take on West Adelaide at Home on Saturday.
