Phil Hoffmann Travel Under 18’s Round 17 Match Report

Eagles 11.14 (80) def Sturt 2.2 (14)
Goal Scorers: Williams Z 3, Dawkins 2, Kasianowicz 2, Poulter 2, Jackson, Williams R
Best Players: Barnett, Burgoyne, Williams Z, Ueding, Poulter, Kasianowicz

The Under 18s had a good win against Sturt on Sunday winning by 66 points in tough conditions. We were able to win every quarter with a very good display of contested football, playing
well to the conditions.  Another highlight was the players from both sides trying to stay warm when the hail hit at the start of the 3rd quarter!

We had many good players and special mentions should go to Liam Ueding and Ryan Williams, two of our under 16s, who both did a great job rucking against taller opponents and helped us win the clearance battle with their competition and effort.  Luke Barnett continued his strong form at the contest with his ball winning and tackling real features of his play.  Another Under 16, Jase Burgoyne,  gave us plenty of run from defence and used the ball well, Zane Williams was busy around the ground and up forward with 3 goals, Caleb Poulter and Jordan Kasianowicz were also good for us and Shaun McNeilly and Nathan Francis were strong in the key defensive posts.

We finish off our minor round with a game against the Roosters at home on Saturday and it will be a great way to finish the year against a strong opponent.
